The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots (SKNP) have selected South Africans Tabraiz Shamsi and Anrich Nortje to start in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 in replace of Sri Lanka's Nuwan Thushara and Wanindu Hasaranga. In the just-finished white-ball series against India, Hasaranga and Thushara were both injured.

While Shamsi has an outstanding record in the CPL and has taken 33 wickets for the SKNP in 27 outings, Nortje will be making his debut appearance in the competition. With favorable circumstances predicted to support spinners throughout the competition, the wrist spinner is probably going to play a significant part once more.

The Guyana Warriors are the current champions, while St. Kitts and Nevis hopes to improve on two lackluster seasons following the high points of the 2021 campaign in this forthcoming edition.

At Patriots, Nortje and Shamsi will rejoin with Tristan Stubbs, their teammate from South Africa. With only one victory in ten games, the team had the worst record in the CPL 2023.
