The 6 Bangladeshi cricketers named in the IPL auction are – Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud. Apart from Mustafizur, no one has played in IPL before. Despite several calls regarding Taskin, Taskin did not play in the IPL due to various reasons including not getting NOC from BCB, and injury problems.

1166 cricketers have registered their names in the auction. However, the absence of Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das is somewhat surprising. In the last season, they joined Kolkata Knight Riders.
