Match Preview
New Zealand (NZ) will face Pakistan (PAK) in the third warm-up match of the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on September 29. New Zealand have not had a good time in this format. They have decided that this will be an important game for both teams to get used to the World Cup situations.
New Zealand had faced Bangladesh in the last game, with Bangladesh winning the toss and electing to bat. Will Young and Adam Milne both produced outstanding performances with the bat and ball. Young led New Zealand to 175-3 by hitting 70 off 80 balls. The hosts were restricted to 171 in 34.3 overs by Milne's 4-34. Najmul Hossain, the stand-in skipper for Bangladesh, scored the most runs with 76 but was unable to give the hosts a competitive total as there was a lack of support at the other end after opting to bat first. New Zealand had an easy win by seven wickets.
Pakistan had played against Sri Lanka in their last game where Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. Pakistan lost a wicket early on but also had a fantastic second-wicket partnership. Half-centuries from Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan put Pakistan in a better position than before and put a total of 252 runs on the board. Sri Lanka were brilliant from the start and it seemed like an easy win for Sri Lanka but the twists and turns remained until the end. Towards the end they kept losing wickets but somehow managed to keep their composure and won the game by just two wickets.

New Zealand Key Players
Glenn Phillips – The middle-order batsman is one of the best fielders in the world but his batting has evolved in T20Is and ODIs in recent months.
Trent Boult - The left-arm fast bowler was easily New Zealand's best bowler during the England series and showed he can perform well in Asian conditions with 2-33 in Mirpur this week.
Kane Williamson would make a comeback on the field after not playing for months. He is the best batsman from the Kiwi camp and all eyes are on him.
Pakistan Key Players
Mohammad Rizwan – Although the keeper-batsman does not have the same stellar record in ODIs as he does in T20Is, he remains a very consistent performer for Pakistan across all formats.
Shaheen Shah Afridi – The left-arm pace bowler could well be one of the best wicket-takers in the 2023 World Cup. He is dangerous with both the new and the old ball.
