New Zealand have announced a full-strength squad for the upcoming ODI series against the West Indies. Barbados' Kensington Oval will host all three games starting Wednesday.

It's been 10 years since New Zealand played an ODI in the West Indies but depending on the final selection they could field five players who were part of that team in July 2012 in St Kitts.

New Zealand's first ODI in the Caribbean since 2014 has Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Tom Latham and Martin Guptill back in the 15-man squad. Williamson will lead the visitors in the ODI stage.

Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Tom Latham, Tim Southee and Trent Boult are back on the tour - a mark of their longevity and success as international cricketers - as the side prepare for next year's ODI World Cup, which for some perhaps of significance is their last global tournament.

Southee is no longer the first pick at ODIs, but it's still remarkable to think his last appearance was before the pandemic - against India in February 2020.

Williamson's last appearance came just a month later in the first game behind closed doors at the SCG when the sport was shut down across the world. This is one of just two games he has played since the 2019 World Cup Final due to injuries and rotation.

Williamson has not played an ODI since March 2020 in Sydney against Australia. The right-hander has struggled with his elbow in the recent past, forcing him to miss many games.

New Zealand's 15-man squad for West Indies ODIs

Kane Williamson, Finn Allen, Trent Boult, Michael Bracewell, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ben Sears, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee.
