Nasir Hossain’s 77 in vain as Dhanmondi clinch 5-wicket win in DPL 2024-25

Nasir Hossain, an experienced all-rounder, led the game with a well-paced 77 off 84 balls, and Asadullah Al Galib added a strong 65 off 80. Nuhayel Sandeed and Ariful Haque both scored big runs late on. Sandeed hit 34 off 26 balls and Ariful hit 48 off just 28 balls.

In a high-scoring Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) match at BKSP Ground No. 4, Dhanmondi Sports Club beat Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club by 5 wickets after a great chase. Dhanmondi beat 281 runs with 17 balls to spare, thanks to a brilliant 97-run knock from Nurul Hasan Sohan and a calm finish from Yasir Ali.

In response, Dhanmondi's top order got things off to a fast start. Azmir Ahmed (40 off 30) and Habibur Rahman (33 off 24) got the team off to a great start. It was Fazle Mahmud Rabbi who scored 47 runs with the bat and took 3 wickets with the ball.
However, Nurul Hasan Sohan was the star of the day. His strong 97 off 95 tosses got Dhanmondi close to the finish line. He came very close to getting a hundred, but his innings kept the pace with his team. Then Yasir Ali Chowdhury sealed the win with a 55 off 40 balls that was not out.
Nuhayel Sandeed took 3 wickets, but Rupganj Tigers couldn't stop Dhanmondi from easily winning. The five-wicket win not only gives Dhanmondi important points, but it also makes them feel better about the rest of the DPL 2024-25 season.
