Nannu explains reasons behind Dipu and Musfik's selection

The Afghanistan cricket team will come to Bangladesh on June 10 to play a complete series in two phases. Bangladesh-Afghanistan will face each other in the only Test on June 14 in Mirpur. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for this series on Sunday (June 4). Middle-order batter Shahadat Hossain Dipu and pacer Musfik Hasan have been called up to the national team for the first time.
Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said the reason for taking these two youngsters in the Test team. After announcing the team in the afternoon, Nannu said, “Both have played at the U-19 level. They were in our high-performance category. They also did well for the 'A' team. We are confident that both of them will do well.”

Meanwhile, Litton Das will lead the team in the Afghanistan Test as the regular captain of the Test team, Shakib Al Hasan, is absent due to injury. Litton will come down to toss as the twelfth Test captain of Bangladesh. About Litton, Nannu said, “Being a captain in Tests is a big thing, a place of great honor. From this point, I think Litton will lead the team from the front.”
