The beginning of Mustafizur Rahman’s career was nothing short but a dream start of international career for a teen performer. The runaway fast bowler, when in the pick of his form, suddenly slumped in an unfortunate shoulder injury that ultimately threw him out of the action for a long period of time. Mustafizur in his delivery stride[/caption] Now, after coming back from quite a long rehabilitation phase, Mustafizur is yet to spark with the ball, left Bangladeshi fans wondering whether the ‘cutter-master’ could regain his earlier form ever or not. Casting away any sort of negativity in this regard, Bangladesh interim coach Richard Halsall assured Mustafizur’s improvement and also figured out how long could it take for a bowler to back in the form from this kind of injuries. “If you look at elite Baseball games, many pitchers (baseball player) suffer from this injury. A pitcher has to throw in around 90 miles per hour. Whenever they fall from this sort of injuries, they need at least two years to get back in form,” Halsall said. Halsall, therefore, said, “Mustafizur is running through the eighteen month after his injury. Now he is delivering cutters and bowling in 85 miles per hour. His pace is increasing every week which will make his cutter more effective. He is regaining his confidence.” In the first match of the tri-nation series, 2018, Mustafizur claimed 2 wickets bowling full 10 overs of his quota, giving away 29 runs and a maiden. Bangladesh will play their next match of the series on 19 January against Sri Lanka.
