Saqlain Mushtaq has been appointed as the spin bowling coach and mentor of Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Multan Sultans, the franchise announced on Saturday.

Former Pakistan spin bowler and King of Doosra Saqlain Mushtaq has been appointed as the spin bowling coach and mentor of Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Multan Sultans.

According to details, Multan Sultans recently announced the appointment of Saqlain Mushtaq as spin bowling coach and mentor on their X account (formerly Twitter).

Mushtaq, the creator of Doosra, represented Pakistan in 218 international matches across two formats, Test and ODI, picking up 496 wickets, etching his name in the history books of cricket.

Multan Sultans also announced Alex Hartley, a former England international and World Cup winner, as assistant spin bowling coach. And now Hartley, along with Saqlain, is ready to lead the spin department of the 2021 PSL winners.

It is to be noted that Catherine Dalton was previously appointed as the fast bowling coach of Multan Sultans.

Additionally, Dalton made history by becoming the first female coach in the PSL and the pioneer fast bowling coach of a prominent men's team.

Additionally, veteran national cricket coach Abdul Rehman took over as head coach of Multan Sultans last month.

He was previously assistant coach of the Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for five years.

In a recent announcement on X (formerly Twitter), the Sultans introduced Rehman as their new head coach, succeeding Andy Flower.

Multan Sultans won the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2021 and finished runners-up to Lahore Qalandars in 2022 and 2023. Lahore and Islamabad are the only teams to have won the PSL twice.
