Mujeeb Ur Rahman returns to Afghanistan squad for India series

Finally, Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been returned to the national team of Afghanistan. In the last few days, there has been some apprehension about the future of Mujeeb in the national team due to the complications related to the central agreement and NOC. Finally, Mujeeb got a call for the India series.
Three cricketers, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Fazalhaq Farooqi, wanted to stay out of Afghanistan's new central contract to give more importance to franchise cricket. The Afghanistan board did not take their request very well. As a result, the board announced the decision not to give them NOC in franchise cricket for the next 2 years.
Afghanistan later included Farooqi and Naveen in their squad for the latest series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) when they again requested the board to represent the country. But then Mujeeb was playing in the Big Bash League (BBL). The Afghanistan board canceled the NOC given to him and brought Mujeeb back to the country midway through the tournament. This time, Mujeeb has been kept in the India series team.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced a 19-member squad for the three-match T20I series against India. Rashid Khan is in the squad but there are concerns about his game due to a back injury.
The first match of the three-match T20 series between India and Afghanistan will be played in Mohali on January 11. The remaining two matches will be played on January 14 in Indore and January 17 in Bangalore. This will be the last T20I series for the two teams before the T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA in June.
