MSK Prasad slams Farokh Engineer for his remarks on Anushka Sharma.[/caption]
It all started when Farokh Engineer slammed the selectors as they were serving tea to Anushka Sharma. MSK Prasad, came with a reply. "Demeaning and disrespecting the selection committee and the wife of the captain of the Indian team through false and baseless allegations is unwarranted, especially by a man of such an elderly age. May God bless him," the chief selector said.
Farokh Engineer had hit out at the selection committee terming it a Mickey Mouse selection committee and he was absolutely not sure how the selectors were even qualified to get into this panel.
"We have got a Mickey Mouse selection committee. Virat Kohli has a major impact (in the process) which is very good. But how are the selectors qualified? Between them, have they played about 10-12 Test matches," Engineer said.
Meanwhile, he has conveyed his sincere apology to Anushka Sharma. He added that his intention was not to criticize Anushka Sharma, calling her a 'wonderful human being'. He was not pleased with the Indian selectors whom he feels that they are not doing their job properly.
"Yes, this incident had indeed happened. But I am not criticizing Anushka. She is such a lovely and charming lady. A wonderful human being. She and Virat Kohli are role models. I am not her detractor at all. If she has felt offended I apologize to her. I am so sorry if she felt bad. My ire was only against the selectors whom I found probably not doing their job," Engineer told a TV channel.
