Bangladesh pace bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin is suffering from depression. He could not play in the last T20 World Cup. He could not play in Canada's Global T20 tournament due to visa complications. All in all, this cricketer has asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for leave.

After being chosen for the second four-day match and the three one-day matches for the Bangladesh A team, Saifuddin made this request. Due to the continuous political unrest, he was unable to obtain his visa in time to play for the Montreal Tigers in Canada's Global T20 event. The all-rounder with a mental illness therefore asked the BCB to suspend him from playing cricket for two months.

Saifuddin returned to the national team after a year and a half with the Zimbabwe series at home before this year's T20 World Cup. Despite taking 8 wickets in 4 matches of that series, he did not get a place in the T20 World Cup team. In his place came another pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who also proved the decision of the selectors right with 11 wickets in 7 matches in T20 World Cup.

Saifuddin asked for a leave because he missed out on the opportunity to play in the franchise league for the first time. In the letter, he wrote, “I am very upset because of the recent World Cup cricket and not being able to play in the Global T20 League due to the situation arising in the country. So for the next two months I want to keep myself away from all forms of cricket.”
