Bangladesh's young stars are making their mark on the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as it gets hotter. Spinner Rishad Hossain has been turning heads with his great play for the Lahore Qalandars. At the same time, bowler Nahid Rana hasn't even played his first game for Peshawar Zalmi yet, but there's already a lot of talk about him.
Before their game against Lahore Qalandars, which is the only team they have beaten so far, Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan took the time to praise both Bangladeshi players.
Rizwan, who is also captain of Pakistan's ODI team, praised Rishad's steady work and pointed out the young spinner's important role for Lahore and the way he could affect the future of Bangladesh cricket. "Rishad is a powerful spinner. He has been bowling exceptionally well, with a very high standard. He has become a vital player for his team and, in time, he will be an important asset for Bangladesh as well," Rizwan told the media.
Rishad’s variations and fearless approach have made him a standout performer, even in a tournament packed with top international stars. On the other hand, Nahid Rana, who was recently part of Bangladesh’s Test squad against Zimbabwe, has yet to feature in a match for Peshawar Zalmi. Rizwan expressed surprise at not seeing the young pacer in action yet but didn’t hold back from praising him.
"Nahid Rana is a fantastic cricketer. He’s been bowling really well. But I haven't seen him play in the PSL yet. Why isn’t he playing? I don't know," Rizwan wondered aloud.
Despite not getting a game so far, the excitement surrounding Nahid suggests it’s only a matter of time before he gets his moment on the PSL stage.
