Mohammad Rizwan has been announced as the new white-ball captain of Pakistan team. He has replaced Babar Azam as the leader of the team.

Babar Azam stepped down from his position after the disastrous run in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the caribbeans, where the Men in Green were beaten by the hosts USA and their arch-rivals India, which led them to disqualify from the next round.

Rizwan's first assignment as the Pakistan captain will be the three-match ODI series against Australia begins from November 4. The three-match ODI series will be followed by three-match T20I series and then Pakistan will tour Zimbabwe for the same amount of ODI's and T20I's.

Salman Agha was appointed vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team.

Pakistan have also opted for drastic changes to their squad before the Champions Trophy 2025.

Allrounders Aamer Jamal and Arafat Minhas, spinner Faisal Akram, wicketkeeper batsman Haseebullah and batsmen Irfan Khan and Saim Ayub have been selected for the first time in ODI's.
