Former Pakistan captain and ex-Director of Cricket Mohammad Hafeez has voiced his concerns following the announcement of the 17-man squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand. He is taking a dig at the selection committee for not recognizing domestic talents. Hafeez, who previously served as the team's director and head coach, took to social media "twitter (x)" to share his sentiments regarding the selection.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently unveiled the squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi (April 18, 20 and 21) and Lahore (April 25 and 27).
Reversing their decisions to retire from international cricket, Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim both created headlines and were later recalled to the national team. However, Hafeez's criticism stems from the fact that both players have been absent from the domestic league system for a significant period and were instead chosen based on their performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
