Mehrab Hossain appointed for Bangladesh age-level selection panel
National team i.e. senior team selectors usually select players from Tested cricketers. But age-level cricketers have to be chosen from the best cricketers in the whole country. This time Mehrab will fulfill that important responsibility.

When Mehrab Hossain scored his first century as a cricketer of the Bangladesh national team in 1999, no one had an idea that anyone from Bangladesh could score a century. This former cricketer is now joining Bangladesh cricket in a new role. From now on, he will work as a selector for the age-level teams of Bangladesh.
National team i.e. senior team selectors usually select players from Tested cricketers. But age-level cricketers have to be chosen from the best cricketers in the whole country. This time Mehrab will fulfill that important responsibility. Including him, the number of members in the age-based team selection panel increased to 5.
Hannan Sarkar, Sajjad Ahmed Shipon, Ehsanul Haque, and Hasibul Hossain o are already in this panel. Mehrab was born on September 22, 1978 in the capital Dhaka. He made his debut for the national team in 1998. He also played in Bangladesh's debut Test in November 2000. He represented Bangladesh in 9 Tests and 18 ODIs until his retirement.
He played an innings of 101 runs against Zimbabwe in 1999, which was the first century for the Bangladesh team. He bid farewell to international cricket in 2003. Although he played domestic cricket till 2011.
