Mashrafe needs to undergo scan on injured finger

The 33-year-old Bangladeshi cricketer got injured during the T20I series against the Black Caps in New Zealand. Since then the pacer is in rehabilitation to get fit before the Sri Lanka tour. Recently he had to undergo scan in his finger as routine work. The report suggested the right hand bowler will need to wait few more days before he can bowl.

Debashish Chowdhury, the doctor of Bangladesh national side, has said the Narail Express will be seen to bowl from the very start of the next month. He said, "It was a routine scan. We have already passed six weeks. But his finger is improving. Generally it takes 6-7 weeks to recover. But it might take upto eight weeks in our case. This wont effect during the Sri Lanka series." Mashrafe himself is also very confident to lead the side in field during the series against Sri Lanka. He said, "I already have completed scan. There is no more problem. I hope to start bowling very soon". He further added, "Though the Sri Lanka series will start from next week, but there is still much time before the One Day series starts. I am hoping to get fully fit before 25th of March." Earlier, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza got his finger injured during the second T20I against the New Zealand. He was advised to take rest for five-six weeks as he had an fracture in his finger. Six weeks of his rest was completed recently.
