India beat South Africa by 11 runs to go 2-1 ahead in the series on Wednesday (November 14) in Centurion. A stellar hundred [107* off 56] from Tilak Varma, and a superb 50 off 25 balls from Abhishek Sharma helped India get to 219 runs. In reply, Marco Jansen blasted a quick-fire fifty but his valiant knock couldn’t make South Africa win.

Opting to bowl first, Marco Jansen helped South Africa have a ripping start, removing Sanju Samson for a two-ball duck. But Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma then stitched up together and the duo steered ship with timely boundaries. Abhishek smashed a 25 ball fifty, while Tilak kept going strongly, smashing the Proteas ins and outs. Tilak blasted a swashbuckling hundred as he scored 107* off 57 balls as India posted a huge 219 on the board.

In reply, both the openers got good starts but threw away cheaply. Reeza Hendricks scored 21 off 13 balls before falling to Varun Chakravarthy. Skipper Aiden Markram too had a firing start as he smashed a quick-fire cameo of 29 off 18 balls before departing to Varun Chakravarthy yet again.

Heinrich Klaasen then came to the crease and smacked 23 runs off Varun's over to uplift the Proteas. But Arshdeep Singh had him out after scoring 41 off 22 balls.

At the backend of the innings, Marco Jansen hammered things way and bludgeoned 54 off 17 balls but his valiant knock went in futile as India clinch the match by 11 runs.
