Afghanistan have won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh in the first ODI of the three-match series on Wednesday (November 6) in Sharjah.

Afghanistan have fetched in Sediqullah Atal as a replacement of Ibrahim Zadran, who will miss the series due to ankle injury and Atal caught the eyes of the world after his outstanding run in the T20 Emerging Asia Cup 2024. Sediqullah Atal makes his debut with this match. They have opted for 4 spinners- Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Allah Ghazanfar, and Nangeyalia Kharote.

For Bangladesh, Nahid Rana missed out due to visa issue. They are without Shakib Al Hasan, their star batter Litton Das is also opted out of the series due to fever and also Tanzim Hasan Sakib is out with a shoulder injury. As a result, Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Soumya Sarkar will open for Bangladesh in the match.
