After Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das will also be missing the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia at home.
As informed by the Bangladesh selection panel, Liton's father-in-law is severely ill which is why the wicket-keeper batter is returning home today.
Liton is also nursing a thigh injury, which he sustained during the first T20I against Zimbabwe. He did not bat in that game and was sidelined for the remainder of the tour.
"Liton is coming back. He had to be granted leave as it is a family matter. His father-in-law is severely ill, so we have let Liton go. At first place we wanted Liton to get better while staying in the bubble before the Australia series begins, but that is not to be. We have Sohan among additional keepers anyway," Bangladesh selection panel told BDCricTime.
With Mushfiqur out, Nurul Hasan Sohan is the frontrunner to keep wickets. He has been impressive with his game sense and busy batting on his return to the national team.
Mushfiqur, who returned home early after the one-off Test, will not be able to join the Bangladesh camp for Cricket Australia's strict set of conditions. Opener Tamim is out of competitive cricket for at least eight weeks.
The Bangladesh-Australia series will kick off on August 3. Both teams will land in Dhaka on July 29 after finishing their respective tours.
