The match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Punjab Kings have been washed out due to heavy rain at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Earlier in the game, after opting to bat first, the tourists had a tremendous start as they got an ideal foundation on the opening stand with 120-run opening stand, with both the openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh had measured approach.
It was Priyansh Arya, who scored the bulk of the runs, scoring a quick-fire 69 off 35 deliveries before falling to Andre Russell. After the departure of Arya, Prabhsimran Singh took the onus on his shoulders along with his skipper Shreyas Iyer, adding further 40 runs between them. But the departure of Prabhsimran brought KKR back into the game.
KKR clawed their way back, conceding just 43 runs in the final 6 overs to limit the damage. PBKS managed to post 201 despite having a superb 120-run opening stand.
In response, KKR scored 7 runs off the first over before rain came in and didn’t stop.
