The proceedings for the next edition of the Indian Premier League have been started with two more months to go for the league. The hammering process for this year's edition is scheduled to happen in Chennai on February 18th. After the mini auctions, there will be some new additions in all the franchises.
Meanwhile, Punjab based franchise Kings XI Punjab are set to rename their franchise as Punjab Kings ahead of the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league. The official announcement is expected to come within two days, prior to the hammering process to happen in Chennai on the 18th.
It is learned that the franchise owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta, and Karan Paul, have made a formal communication to BCCI regarding the name changing. Subsequently, the board has also given a green signal to the name-changing process.
The owners are planning for a re-launch in Mumbai to mark their name as Punjab Kings. The franchise are expected to come as Punjab Kings for the hammering process in Chennai.
