Australia have confirmed their XI for the blockbuster third Test, which begins from Saturday (December 14) at the Gabba, Brisbane. Scott Boland has been dropped from the side as Josh Hazlewood has returned to the XI.
Josh Hazlewood Australian captain Pat Cummins has said that Scott Boland is bit unlucky to lose his spot after taking five wickets in Adelaide.
"It's tough. He was fantastic in Adelaide," Cummins said of the 35-year-old.
"Unfortunately he's spent quite a bit of time on the bench over the last 18 months and whenever he plays he's fantastic.
"It's a shame for Scotty, but still a fair bit to play out this series. I'd be surprised if he didn't play again in this series."
Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the Adelaide Test due to a side strain but Cummins was confident about Hazlewood to get back into the rhythm.
"He's had no hiccups," Cummins told reporters on Friday. "He had a really good bowl yesterday, he had another bowl in Adelaide a couple of days previously. Him and the medical team are really confident."
Australia's XI for third Test: Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey (Wicketkeeper), Pat Cummins (Captain), Mitch Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
The series is now currently in stalemate on 1-1 as the Aussies have bounced back from the Perth disaster in Adelaide with a crashing 10-wicket victory.
