England have dominated the day three of Lord's Test. Joe Root once again stood tall to smash another century to drive England on command with a mountainous lead of 482 runs. However, Sri Lanka batted better than they did in the previous Test or innings.

Joe Root has become the leading Test century scorer for England. 
England started the day with 256 runs lead. They batted positively but Duckett and Pope fell in the first hour, Harry Brook played a little cameo and Jamie Smith looked in great touch before being trapped LBW by Prabath Jayasuriya. Joe Root kept ticking along and scripted history to become England's leading Test match century scorer with 34 Test hundreds.

After the departure of Root, England kept losing wickets at quick intervals and were all out for 251 runs with a lead of 482 runs.
Asitha Fernando, Lahiru Kumara shared three wickets each among them, while Milan Rathnayake and Prabath Jayasuriya had two wickets each as well.

In reply, Sri Lanka batted cautiously but Gus Atkinson drew the first blood for Sri Lanka. While Olly Stone also got another wicket and took the wicket of Pathum Nissanka. Sri Lanka brought in a night watch man of Prabath Jayasuriya and he saw 23 balls and survived the nervy hour properly.
