Former Australian opener Joe Burns smashed century for Italy against Romania in the Europe Qualifier for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.

Joe Burns who featured 29 international matches for Australia made his international debut for Italy to pay tribute to his late brother. Burns playes 23 Test matches for Aussies, scoring 1442 runs at an average of 36.97, he smacked 4 centuries and 7 half-centuries to his name.

In the match against Romania, Burns hammered a 108* off 55 deliveries and helped his side Italy to post a mountainous 244 on the board. In reply, Romania were skittled for a measly 84 runs and Italy won the match by a massive margin of 160 runs.
With the century, Burns also became the sixth cricketer to smash international century for two countries.
Italy, who have won all five of their qualifying matches, will now travel to Germany for the next round of play.
The 2026 T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka and India will feature 20 teams, with 12 automatic qualifiers and eight teams who qualify through regional Qualifiers.
