Opting to bat first, England had a terrific way to start their innings. Courtesy their openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett as the duo raced their way to 75 runs inside 9 overs before an unlucky run-out cut short Phil Salt's quick-fire 43 off 26 deliveries. Harshit Rana then dismissed Ben Duckett and then immediately had Harry Brook on a three-ball duck to open up the floodgates.
Ravindra Jadeja then pinned infront of Joe Root cheaply. And then captain Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell together made a fine 59-run stand. Axar Patel then removed English skipper Jos Buttler after his well-made 52, Jacob Bethell then brought up his fifty couldn’t make it longer as he too fell soon after making the fifty.
England then collapsed horribly as they were bundled up for a cheaply 248 runs.
In reply, India lost both their openers cheaply but Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer did the remedy job, adding a blistering partnership of 94 runs off just 64 deliveries before the departure of Iyer after his quick-fire 59 off 36 deliveries. Axar Patel then came in and joined together, forging a massive 108 runs stand as the partnership steered India home comfortably. Shubman Gill fell short 13 runs short of hundred.
