Jack Leach ruled out of India Tests
Leach injured his knee by diving while fielding on the first day of the Hyderabad Test. Then on the second day, the injury worsened. Leach was unable to move comfortably due to the injury. As a result, he could not spell more than four overs.

Leach injured his knee by diving while fielding on the first day of the Hyderabad Test. Then on the second day, the injury worsened. Leach was unable to move comfortably due to the injury. As a result, he could not spell more than four overs. While Leach bowled 26 overs in the first innings, only 10 overs were bowled in the second innings. However, India's batter Shreyas Iyer was brought back by the injured Leach. England won a historic 28-run win against India in that match.
He did not play in the second Test in Visakhapatnam as the injury did not improve. However, as there was a 10-day break before the third Test, Leach was waiting. Leach also accompanied the England team to Abu Dhabi for a training camp after the second Test. It was only after further tests that Leach was ruled out for the rest of the series. Leach will fly to the country from Abu Dhabi.
In a statement, the ECB said, "He will fly home from Abu Dhabi in the next 24 hours, where the England team have been staying ahead of the third Test in Rajkot, which starts on Thursday. Leach will work closely with the England and Somerset medical teams in respect of his rehabilitation."
The England team will return to India on Monday, February 12. The third Test match between India and England will be played in Rajkot on February 15. The series is currently tied at 1-1.
