Left-arm seamer Rumman Raees, who has been absent from action due to a series of injuries on the international stage, has claimed he is now ready to push for a comeback.

Pakistan has produced a number of fast bowlers in the recent past but some of them have suffered injuries that have prevented them from reaching the pinnacle of their careers and Rumman Raees is one of them.

Rumman Raees rose to prominence after a stellar performance in the semi-finals of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy against England when the team's main bowler, Mohammad Amir, was injured. The left-armed pacesetter had big shoes to fill, but he rose to the occasion and contributed to the team's all-important victory.

In an interview with a local digital media outlet, Rumman said he still enjoys playing cricket just as much as he did before.

“I try to play good cricket and enjoy my cricket as much as possible. I was injured at the peak of my career but I've got five or six years left and if I stay fit I can make a comeback," said the 30-year-old.

Rumman recently played in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) and contributed to his team's success. However, he has missed the first two games for Sindh in the ongoing National T20 Cup through injury.

Following the conclusion of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) Season 2 final, ProPakistani conducted an exclusive interview with Rumman Raees to gain an insight into his KPL experience and his hopes of returning to international cricket.

Responding to a question regarding the second edition of the KPL, the Bagh Stallions pacesetter said: “We strived to play quality cricket for our team and we succeeded. The overall KPL experience, both as a team and as an individual, remained outstanding.”

Commenting on the ongoing National T20 Cup, Rumman, who has 120 wickets in T20 cricket, said: "Last year I finished the national T20 tournament as the second highest wicket-taker and this time we will try to play good cricket and Sindh to make masters."

When asked about his return to international cricket, the pacesetter, 30, said: “I try to play good cricket as much as possible and enjoy my cricket. I was injured at the peak of my career but I've got five or six years left and if I stay fit I can make a comeback."

It is worth mentioning here that Rumman has missed the first two games for Sindh in the current National T20 Cup due to another injury.
