Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 was officially launched in the last month as franchises announced the list of players they are carrying with them for the next edition of the richest T20 league in the world.
As usual the next main process of the league will be the big auction that puts the remaining players under the hammer and provides them for the franchises who are bidding on those players.
A couple of days ago BCCI officially announced that the auction for the next edition of the league will happen on December 18 and said to have a prime time of 3.30 PM IST since it comes in a week day.
Richard Madley the renowned auctioneer associated with the league since the inauguration of the tournament. Richard had a special fan base for him during the auction process. But this time he won't do the proceedings of hammering players.
According to the official IPL website, Hugh Edmeades, an independent fine art, classic car and charity auctioneer will be the new gavel master for the auction which is set to take place in Jaipur on December 18. Hugh possesses a massive experience of 30 years in this field and will be engaging the bidders from eight franchise owners this time around in his unique style.
Richard Madley also had an emotional message to the fans for not being in the auction process.In his message he termed himself as the Hammerman and thanked all the people around the league for a great time.
