West Indies National Cricket Team power-hitter Shimron Hetmyer has officially joined the Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp as preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 intensify. Ahead of the season opener on March 22 Hetmyer was seen getting accustomed to the conditions during a batting practice session. Known for his aggressive batting style the southpaw wasted no time in showing his hard-hitting prowess.

Retained by RR for ₹11 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, Hetmyer has been a vital asset to the team since joining the franchise in 2022. In his time with the Royals Hetmyer has amassed 726 runs at an impressive average of 36.30 and a strike rate of 154.46. Rajasthan Royals will be hoping for more explosive performances from the West Indian star this season.

During one of his practice sessions Hetmyer displayed his typical power game even hitting a tripod camera with a powerful cover drive. When asked about the incident, Hetmyer humorously responded, “It’s a good start to the season. That’s what I think. That was a very good start to the season.”

RR fans will be eagerly awaiting similar fireworks from Hetmyer once the IPL 2025 gets underway.
