Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has left Gujrat Titans squad and returned home due to personal reasons. Kagiso Rabada returned his home to South Africa due to personal reasons. "To deal with an important personal matter", and did not specify a date for his return"- Gujrat Titans said in a statement.
Rabada played the first two matches of Gujrat Titans in the IPL 2025, returned figures with 1 for 41 in the defeat to Punjab Kings, and 1 for 42 in the win over Mumbai Indians.
However, he did not feature in the GT's third game, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday, where Gujrat Titans thumped RCB by 8 wickets on the back of Mohammad Siraj and Jos Buttler's heroics.
Gujrat Titans fielded all-rounder Arshad Khan in the place of Rabada, who ended up removing Virat Kohli in the very first over of him, leaving RCB in an uncertain scenario. GT played with three overseas players in the game against RCB, Jos Buttler, Rashid Khan and Sherfane Rutherford.
Now GT's other overseas options are Blackcaps allrounder Glenn Phillips, who hasn't played a game yet, and Protea fast bowler Gerald Coetzee, who also hasn't featured yet and may not be fully fit.
Gujrat Titans are currently standing fourth on the points table, with two victories to their name and a defeat in their first three matches. Their next match is an away game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6, after which they will Rajasthan Royals on April 9.
