Gujarat Titans (GT) didn't have a smooth run in IPL 2024. With Shubman Gill at the helm, the team struggled to replicate past performances and missed the playoffs by finishing eighth on the table with five wins and seven losses.

Gujarat Titans Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 mega auction would give the Titans a prime opportunity to rebuild their squad and chase glory once again. They retained five core players namely Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan.

GT will enter the auction with a substantial purse of INR 69 crores and one RTM card they can use on a capped player. Take a look at three players GT might target with their RTM card.

1. David Miller

GT's decision to not retain David Miller raised eyebrows. The South African left-hander has been a key component of their batting lineup. Known for his explosive finishing, Miller has added experience and grit to the team's middle order since the last few years.

Over three IPL seasons with GT, Miller notched 481, 259, and 210 runs, each time striking at close to 150. Even in IPL 2024, though he played fewer matches, he maintained an impressive strike rate of 151. With young Shubman Gill now leading, Miller’s vast experience and finishing ability could bring balance to GT's batting lineup if they decide to bring him back with their RTM.

2. Vijay Shankar

Vijay Shankar enjoyed one stellar IPL season with the Ahmedabad-based franchise in 2023, scoring 301 runs with three fifties and a 160 strike rate. However, he chipped in with meagre contributions in the 2022 and 2024 seasons.

Despite that, he still remains a valuable asset due to his all-round abilities. Surprisingly, the 2022 IPL champions didn't use his bowling skills in the last two seasons, primarily using him as an Impact Sub. If GT sees his value as both a middle-order batter and a potential bowler, they might well consider using their RTM card on him to add depth to their lineup.

3. Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma stands as a strong candidate in the list. He was roped in for just INR 50 lakhs at the IPL 2023 auction and quickly became a revelation, especially as a death-over specialist. He was instrumental in the team's run to the finals in IPL 2023, taking 27 wickets in 14 games.

In IPL 2024, he often bowled in first 10 overs, where he accounted for 13 dismissals in 14 games. His consistent performances make him a right choice for GT. With a healthy budget and one RTM card in hand, GT has the perfect chance to bring back seasoned players who can boost their chances in IPL 2025.
