Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have announced that Sri Lankan leg-spinner Vijayakanth Viyaskanth will replace the injured Wanindu Hasaranga in their squad for the remainder of IPL 2024.

Unfortunately, Hasaranga was ruled out of IPL 2024 a couple of days ago due to chronic heel pain in his left foot. Since then SRH has been searching for a suitable replacement for Hasaranga and Vijayakanth was their final choice.

Taking about Hasaranga The Lankan maestro was bought for INR 1.50 crore at the IPL 2024 mini-auction by the 2016 champions, SRH.he was brilliant for his former team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore At the 2022 auction, he was purchased for a premium Rs 10.75 crore, and he had an incredible first season with 26 wickets. But last year, he played a smaller part, which resulted in his release prior to the 2024 auction.

“Sunrisers Hyderabad have signed Vijaykanth Viyaskanth as a replacement for the injured Wanindu Hasaranga for the remainder of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Vijaykanth, a leg-spinner from Sri Lanka, has represented his country in a solitary T20 International so far. He joins the Tata IPL at his base price of INR 50 lakhs,” an official media release read.
