Bangladesh Women's beat Scotland Women's by 16 runs to kick off the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. This is the first victory for the tigresses in a decade while playing in the T20 World Cup. Ritu Moni's exceptional spell and Sobahana Mostary's gutsy knock helped Bangladesh get victory of this tournament.

After opting to bat first, Bangladesh had a steady start as the openers added 26 runs before Bryce removed Murshida Khatun. Shathi Rani and Sobahana Mustary then strung together for a gutsy 42 run stand. Shathi was removed by Katherine Fraser after her 29 off 32 deliveries. While Sobahana got out on 36 off 38 balls to Olivia Bell. After the departure of these two, Bangladesh women's lost the plot and collapsed horribly.

At the backend of the innings, Fahima Khatun blasted 10 off 5 and helped Bangladesh post a modest total of 119 runs.

Saskia Horley was the pick of the bowlers from Scotland as she picked up 3 wickets to her name. While Bryce, Olivia Bell and Katherine Fraser all had one wicket apiece.

In reply, Fahima Khatun gave Bangladesh a flying start as she picked up the wicket of opener Saskia Horley. Marufa Akter knocked over the stumps of the Scottish captain Bryce.

But wicket-keeper batter Sarah Bryce however stood tall and saw all other batters falling apart. Scotland's middle order collapsed horrifically as Ritu Moni triggered the collapse.

No-one scored runs at the middle and lower order as wickets were kept tumbling at the other end. Sarah Bryce remained unbeaten on 49* off 52 balls as Scotland were 16 runs short in the chase.
