Middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan showcased his grit and determination by slamming his maiden Test hundred for India in the first Test against New Zealand at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Batting at No. 4, Sarfaraz’s impressive knock came during the first session on Day 4, as India looked to recover from a trailing position.

Sarfaraz reached his century in the 57th over of India’s second innings, off an expertly timed backfoot punch to a Tim Southee delivery that sailed wide of cover for a boundary. His innings displayed a remarkable blend of defense and aggression, helping India regain control of the match. Despite the pressure on India, Sarfaraz batted with poise, spending over four hours at the crease to anchor his team's innings.
