India-Australia 5-match Test series after 33 years
India will play a five-Test series in Australia at the end of the year.

Cricket Australia (CA) said in a press release that the two teams will play 5 Tests in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the 2024-25 season. The Indian cricket board quoted BCCI secretary Shah as saying in the statement, "This is our collective commitment to nurture and improve the significance of Test cricket.
Referring to the increase in the number of Tests in the series, Cricket Australia chairman Mike Baird said, "We are delighted to announce the expansion of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will intensify the rivalry and excitement between the two cricketing nations."
The last five-Test series between India and Australia was held in the 1991–92 season. Australia won the series 4-0. Mohammad Azharuddin, Australia's Alan Border captained India in that series on Indian soil.
