Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim praised his skipper Babar Azam for his outstanding century in the second T20I against New Zealand in Lahore on Saturday.
Azam played a stunning inning of 101 runs for 58 balls, including 11 fours and three sixes, for a batting average of 174.13.
During a post-match chat with Babar, Wasim said that the right-hander is currently the best player in the world.
“I've watched a lot of innings but that was the best in my opinion, especially the way Babar carried on after we lost three wickets. The wicket also held. But his way of playing was just awesome. There is no doubt that he is the best player in the world," he said.
It must be noted that Pakistan won the second 38-run T20I thanks to Babar's brilliance with the bat and Pacer Haris Rauf's four-wicket pull.
"I'm really looking forward to playing in this game," said Babar, who is now the most successful T20I captain with 42 wins, along with England's Eoin Morgan and Afghanistan's Asghar Afghan.
I'm very happy to play in this match," said Babar. “I had two good partnerships and then our bowling was once again excellent. We have experienced and exciting young bowlers who have given us back-to-back wins."
Pakistan now leads the five-game streak 2-0, with the last three games taking place in Lahore (April 17) and Rawalpindi (April 20 and 24).
