ICC Men’s Player of the Month nominees for March 2024 announced
Ireland's Mark Adair, New Zealand's Matt Henry and Sri Lanka's Kamindu Mendis have all been nominated for the award.

The shortlist for the ICC Men's Player of the month for March 2024 has been announced. Ireland's Mark Adair, New Zealand's Matt Henry and Sri Lanka's Kamindu Mendis have all been nominated for the award.

Mark Adair played a crucial role in his side’s historic Test triumph over Afghanistan in March. Adair’s incisive work with the ball in the first innings yielded him his maiden five-wicket haul. His 5/39 bowled out Afghanistan for merely 155. As a result, Ireland only got a target of 111 runs to win the Test. They got their first win in Test format with this match. Mark Adair was man of the match for his outstanding performance. After that, the Irish pacer took three wickets in the ODI series and five wickets in the T20 series
Returning to the Sri Lanka squad for the first time since 2022, Kamindu Mendis has had a memorable month. He scored 68 runs in T20 series. After that, he kept the consistency in the Test as well. He scored a double century in the Sylhet Test. He brought good collections in both innings for the Lankans who were in a batting disaster on a green wicket. Sri Lankan captain Dhananjaya de Silva also scored a double century with him. Kamindu played an extraordinary innings of 164 runs in the second innings.
Kiwi pacer Matt Henry had an eye-catching performance in the Trans-Tasman Trophy. Henry's performance was outstanding despite New Zealand losing the two-Test series. He took a total of 17 wickets including five wickets twice. He also contributed with the bat. He scored 101 runs at an average of 25.25.
