West Indies young fast bowler Shamar Joseph has stated that he wants to ruin James Anderson's farewell party when they play England at Lord's in the first Test of their three-match series.
Anderson will play his final game on the field, which takes place from July 10 to July 14. In Test cricket history, Anderson will be the pacer with the most wickets taken.
In an interview with the media, Shamar praised Anderson as a fantastic player and someone he looked up to as a child. He described the England veteran as 'ideal' considering how many wickets he had amassed over his career.
“He is such an amazing player. Someone I have looked up to. Someone who is very good at this level. You could say he’s perfect because he has a lot of wickets at this level. Definitely, I would want to ruin that farewell for him,” Joseph said.
Shamar also talked about his experiences of seeing the game at Lord's, saying he hopes to perform well at the storied stadium. “Oh they’re great. Watching a lot of the Ashes with great fast bowlers, Jofra Archer, Mitchell Starc, all the great fast bowlers come out here and do well. that’s something I would want to do as well,” Joseph added.
