South African left-arm leg-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi's wicket celebration against India has sparked controversy. Not only that, Shamsi and his wife were bullied online after the celebration. Shamsi opened his mouth.

The incident started after Shamsi dismissed Suryakumar Yadav in the second T20 against India. Shamsi then celebrated Suryakumar's wicket in his style by taking off a boot and holding it to his ear while talking on the phone. However, this gesture was not liked by several Indian fans. Although Shamsi has done this celebration many times before.

"People took it in a negative way; they thought it was disrespectful,"  Shamsi told the popular cricket-based site Cricbuzz .

"I had so much abuse hurled at me. It was probably the worst it's ever been. There was also abuse hurled at my wife. I didn't appreciate that. It's uncalled for. It's fine if you want to have a dig at the players, but to involve family and say nasty things, that pushes it to another level.”

Noting that everyone tries their best, Shamsi expects good behavior from everyone. Shamsi added, " Yes, we are all trying our best. Yes, your team may not win. But win or lose you may disagree on some things. But you have to behave like a human being. You cannot behave like an animal. .”

Also in the Usman Khawaja issue, Khawaja was warned to wear boots that read "All lives are equal" and "Freedom is a human right" in practice. During the first Test in Perth, Khawaja accused Pakistan of violating ICC rules on "political" matters in support of the Palestinians. He was then charged with a dress and equipment violation for wearing a black armband in the same match.  

Khawaja said the armband indicated a "personal mourning". The ICC said he was not allowed to wear it. Khawaja refused a request to wear a picture of a dove as a symbol of peace at bat in the second Test in Melbourne.

Shamsi posted, "I would like the ICC to explain what exactly has [Khawaja] done wrong? Why the double standards?" Many cricketers have taken a knee in support of Black Lives Matter (BLM) - West Indies still do wear a BLM logo on their collars - and Marnus Labuschagne has a stylised eagle on his bat, representing his favourite bible verse.

"For those that hope in the Lord, he shall renew their strength," the verse reads. "He shall soar on wings like eagles. He shall run and not grow weary and talk and not be faint." Here's hoping that reaches Gaza.
