Tamim Iqbal and Tanzid Hasan Tamim- both are left-handed batter, both are openers. Both are named Tamim. One is not playing in the upcoming Asia Cup, while the other got a chance in the national team squad for the first time.

Newcomer Tanzid Tamim says his inspiration is veteran Tamim Iqbal. Tanzid Hasan grew up watching Tamim playing in Bangladesh 's jersey since 2007. 20-year-old Tanzid considers him as the idol.

The left-handed cricketer scored fifty in three of the four innings in the Emerging Asia Cup and got the call at Tamim's place. Tamim won’t be available for the Asia Cup because of injury.

Asked how important this place is, Tanzid Tamim said, "Every place is important to everyone. He (Tamim Iqbal) is an idol for everyone. I have grown up watching his game. So I will try to give my best, to retain the place." 

Due to the similarity of the name, Tanzid Tamim has watched Tamim Iqbal's playing more than anyone. This matter also motivated Tanzid to watch the game. He added, “Look, I've been hearing this for a long time. To be honest, I grew up watching him (Tamim Iqbal) and got motivated to watch the game.

The 22-year-old Tanzid also tried to learn from watching Tamim's game. He further said, "He is a role model for us, for everyone. I try to learn a lot by watching his game. How to control everything and how to play in any situation. So definitely it’s a motivation."
