The former Bangladeshi coach Chandika Hathurusingha might be one of the happiest person in the world at the moment. After becoming the head coach of his own country, his side has been dominant and also became the first team in 2018 to win series in all three formats of the game.

But the one that had to suffer the most was Hathurusingha's former team, Bangladesh. He had been Bangladesh's Head Coach just three months before the tour and there were reports claiming that his knowledge on Bangladesh players helped Sri Lanka. But the Sri Lankan coach denies to agree on that. In a press conference on Monday, Hathurusingha said: "I didn't play any games and the ones who did deserve all the credit. I saw that the Bangladeshi media had commented that me having knowledge helped us. But I would like to reiterate that one man can not make such big changes. We had plans and everyone contributed in executing those plans." The team was quick to put those mistakes right and get back on track, coach says: "I didn't feel that I had made the wrong choice in committing to Sri Lanka despite the early setback. I knew that we could bounce back. What happened was that the opposition played very well in those earlier games and we took some time to get accustomed to conditions. We overdid a few things I thought, but we were quick to put those mistakes right and get back on track." On the environment of dressing room: "The environment in the dressing room was very good. The coaching staff was amazing. The communication was very good. Always told them to back themselves without worrying about the outcome. That was the major turning point in us enabling to turn things around." When asked about the Nidahas Trophy's preparation: "How we plan and go about things will depend on the opposition and what we want to achieve. We have communicated to the players and they know their roles as well. We are preparing all the players to do their roles to be best they can."
