Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is currently one of the best batters in all three formats. He has performed exceptionally well in the last two to three years and has established himself among the best batsmen in the world.

Although Babar Azam is undoubtedly one of the best batsmen in the world, Mohammad Asif doesn't seem to rate him highly. The Pakistan captain has been criticized from several quarters in the last few days for his poor performance in the Asia Cup.

Babar took Pakistan cricket to a new level and was a pretty good captain. However, after some failures in the recently concluded 2023 Asia Cup, he also had to face some problems. A number of former cricketers, cricket analysts and fans have questioned his batting approach and captaincy qualities.

It is nothing new for a former cricketer to make a bold claim or make a statement that seems quite difficult to understand. And a recent statement by former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif also raised eyebrows among many fans.

Mohammad Asif mocks Babar Azam

Despite Babar Azam's impressive success with the bat in international cricket, Mohammad Asif said that he can still cause problems for him while bowling. Widely considered one of the best swing bowlers of all time, Mohammad Asif said that Babar Azam could not score a single run against him.

"Even today in T20 cricket I can bowl a maiden to Babar Azam, he can't hit the ball if you bowl him good balls," Mohammad Asif said.

Well, the battle between the in-form Babar Azam and Mohammad Asif in his prime would have been really exciting. In the past, several legendary batsmen like AB de Villiers, Kevin Pietersen and Hashim Amla have heaped praise on Asif for his swing bowling.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam will soon arrive in India for the ODI World Cup. He and his teammates will be desperate to turn things around after a disastrous 2023 Asian Cup season. Pakistan will open their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on October 6.
