Hybrid model confirmed for ICC Champions Trophy 2025, India to play at a neutral venue
The hybrid model between India and Pakistan will be applied from next ICC events to 2027.

There have been lot of discussions over the venues of India matches in ICC Champions Trophy as India is reluctant to tour Pakistan. However, now ICC has made a decision on this as India will play all the matches of the eight-team tournament on a neutral venue. In return, Pakistan too got something. All the Pakistan matches of the ICC events, hosted by India will be played on a neutral venue.
In both instances, the knockout matches are also being incorporated. Pakistan have also been awarded with another ICC tournament as the 2028 Women's T20 World Cup has been awarded to Pakistan due to agreeing on the hybrid model.
The agreement commences with the 2025 ICC men's Champions Trophy in Pakistan, and will be applied to the 2025 women's ODI World Cup in India, and the 2026 men's T20 World Cup which is co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The neutral venue will be chosen by the host nation and it must be approved by the ICC.
The UAE is on the front of the race to be the neutral venue of the Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka is in consideration too. But all the rights will be retained by the host nation.
Pakistan are the defending champions of the ICC Men's Champions Trophy, which last held in 2017 in England.
