The pace of Holder and Kemar Roach, who toook 3 for 47, proved too strong for the visitors. Only four Sri Lankan men got into the double figures with Lahiru Thirimanne providing resilience. The left-handed opener struck 70 runs off 180 balls with 4 boundaries before perishing to Holder in the last session. Niroshan Dickwella made 32 off 76. West Indies openers Kraigg Brathwaite (3*), the newly appointed Test captain, and John Campbelll (7*) have been watchful to take their side to 13/0 at stumps.
