Sri Lanka thumped United Arab Emirates in the 3rd match of ICC Cricket World Cup Qualification match by a massive margin of 175 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga's magnificent 6 wicket haul helped SL cruise pass the challenge of UAE.

Earlier the day, SL were sent to bat first as UAE chose to bowl first. Pathum Nissanka and Karunaratne had a brilliant partnership between them as they added 95 runs in the opening stand. After losing both of the openers, SL wk batter Kusal Mendis took the onus on his shoulders as he made a fantastic 78 off only 63 deliveries at a jaw dropping strike rate of 123.81. Samarawickrama too gave hands to Mendis as he scored a glorious 73 off only 64 balls before falling to run out.
At the end, Charith Asalanka's fast and furious 48 off 23, also Wanindu Hasaranga's quick-fire 23 off 12 helped SL post a massive total of 355 on the board.

Chasing the mountain, UAE crushed earlier of their innings. They lost wickets at regular intervals as SL bowlers didn't let UAE batters to get settled in. Lahiru Kumara started the riot removing the opener Mustafa. And since then, it was a fable of wizard Hasaranga's majestic spinning and he bundled UAE for a paltry total of 180 to have a massive win of 175 runs.
