USA won the second T20I against Bangladesh by 6 runs on Thursday and clinched the series as well with one match in hand. After the match, pacer Ali Khan was asked about their matches in T20 World Cup against India and Pakistan.

Ali says that they don’t want to think about the India and Pakistan matches in ICC T20 World Cup right now, rather they are now looking forward to the next game against Bangladesh, then warm-up matches and above all, they want to win their first game against Canada in the T20 World Cup which is bigger than Pakistan-India match to them.

Ali said, “World Cup is a different ball game. This is just building up towards the World Cup. And as I said earlier, we are really capable of doing an upset. And of course, we are really looking forward to it, but we are not thinking about India and Pakistan right now. We are thinking about this next game. Then we have two warm-up games before the World Cup.

“Then we have our opening game, which is the most important game for us. We want to start off the World Cup with the win against Canada. For us, that's bigger than Pakistan-India game. For World, it's bigger Pakistan-India, but for us, it's USA-Canada. So we want to get that win first, and then we take on Pakistan after, and then we think about India after that.”

USA are in Group ‘A’ in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which included India, Pakistan, Ireland and Canada.
