A fire broke out in the players' dressing room at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, home of matches of the 2023 World Cup later this year.
A fire broke out at Kolkata's iconic Eden Gardens ahead of the much-anticipated 2023 ODI World Cups, set to begin in India on October 5. It is assumed that the incident happened on Wednesday night, which led to the stadium management immediately informing the fire brigade, who then brought the situation under control.
According to reports, the fire probably started due to a short circuit problem in the false ceiling of the dressing room. Those working at the renovation site were immediately alerted to the problem, resulting in the fire station deploying two fire trucks to douse the flames.
The stadium staff informed the local authorities and the fire brigade immediately took control of the stadium. After hours of action, the fire was brought under control.
