Fortune Barishal beat Sylhet Strikers by 8 wickets on Sunday (January 26) in Dhaka. A sensational fifer from Faheem Ashraf and two each from Mohammad Nabi and James Fuller have wrapped up Sylhet's innings to 116. In reply, captain Tamim's gutsy fifty and a crisp 42* from Mushfiqur Rahim steered Barishal home.

Opting to bat first, Sylhet Strikers had an absolute disaster way to start their innings. Faheem Ashraf came in and was running riot over the Sylhet Strikers batters and they had no clue to face Barishal bowlers.

Only Ahsan Bhatti did stand up and scored 28 off 29 balls before falling to Nabi. While at the backend of the innings, Jaker Ali Anik smashed a quick-fire 24 off 19 balls as Sylhet Strikers managed to finish their innings on 116.

Faheem Ashraf returned figures with an incredible spell of 7-5, while Nabi and Fuller had two wickets each to their name.

In reply, Towhid Hridoy departed cheaply and so was Dawid Malan as Fortune Barishal slipped to 39-2. But Tamim Iqbal and wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim hold things together and both the batters helped Barishal keep going. The duo added a big 81 runs stand together off only 60 deliveries.

Tamim made a gutsy knock of 52 off 51, while Mushfiqur Rahim scored a crispy 42 off just 30 deliveries to help his side get a comfortable victory.
