In reply to Karnataka Tuskers' innings of 110 runs, Deccan Gladiators overcame the target in 8.3 overs losing half of their wickets though Gladiators started their chase quite poorly losing opener Shane Watson in a single run on the board. Watson made a first ball duck but his partner Mohammad Shahzad cruised for a while hitting 3 shots of fours in his 8 ball innings, he scored 13. Gladiators lost two more wickets hastily before Kieron Pollard and PB Rajapaksa stood for a 68 runs fifth wicket partnership that facilitated their quest for victory, Pollard became the highest scorer for Gladiators, he afforded 45 runs facing 22 balls while blistering away opponent bowlers. The Caribbean big hitter hit 4 over-boundaries on the way to his near fifty run score. Rajapaksa also assisted well enough adding second-highest 27 runs; he made three shots of sixes and two fours. Previously Karnataka Tuskers landed in a below par score of 110 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their stipulated 10 overs after being sent into bat first. The innings was built up upon a 42-run opening partnership between Evin Lewis and J Charles. Charles stead passed into an 18 ball 35 with the help of 5 fours and a six. The second wicket stand between Charles and Hashim Amla saw 38 runs in the middle before adding another 21 runs in the third wicket with Ross Whiteley. Amla was unbeaten scoring 32 off 19 with four shots of fours. Kieron Pollard is adjudged man of the match.
