The former South African batsman AB de Villiers has confirmed that he will play in the next season of Pakistan Super League.

The veteran South African batsman had put the cricket fans into shock by announcing his retirement from international cricket in May, earlier this year. He announced the decision after ending the IPL campaign. His last International series was the four match Test series against Australia in South Africa. Simultaneously that series was the last one for fast bowler Morne Morkel also. During his retirement speech de Villiers stated that he will continue to play Titans in South African domestic circuits and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League. Now he has came up with another exciting news for his fans that he is going to play in the Pakistan Super League. On 7th September he has confirmed his participation in PSL's next year fixture in his twitter handle. In the video posted he said,

“The Pakistan Super League has grown into one of the top T20 tournaments around the world. It has given Pakistanis much to cheer about. I have enjoyed watching some of the PSL games on television in recent years. But 2019 will be different. In 2019, I will be participating in the PSL. I certainly can’t wait and see you there.”

The former South African player is highly likely to captain Lahore Qalandars in the fourth edition of the PSL. In that case, he will replace former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum.
